Who We Are

Our Approach

The GMG’s approach honours and incorporates the strengths, values and traditional teachings of Aboriginal people, and charts a path towards a resurgence of health, wellness and self-sufficiency for all Aboriginal people. Existing strengths, resources and capacity are identified and expanded into realistic action plans for observable change.

Our Roots

With roots as the “Good Medicine Group” (a First Nation term gifted to GMG by a Tlingit Elder, which refers to “all things good that provide health, wellness and prosperity”), GMG serves as trusted advisors to Aboriginal communities and leadership organizations – supporting them in addressing complex issues that support Aboriginal self-determination and lead to a sense of community prosperity.

Building Strength and Capacity from Within

GMG’s core qualifications are not only the credentials we provide as an organization, but the relationships and experience we have come to possess through our more than 12 years work: advancing Aboriginal community and individual health and wellness; advising Aboriginal communities on finance and governance issues surrounding project development; and supporting community economic and social development and capacity building.

Our Team

GMG’s team has extensive consulting experience in the areas of economic development, health and wellness training, environmental assessments, negotiations and dispute resolutions, fundraising, engagement and capacity building for First Nations communities.
